NYC & Company Sales Mission took place on Monday 10th October at the Iveagh Gardens Hotel on Harcourt Street. Tryphavana with her NYC & Company partners hosted two events on the day with a lunch and evening dinner. The trade supported the event in great numbers with as high level of interaction from stakeholders from NYC & Company which included Arthouse Hotel, Downtown Alliance, Empire State Building, Hudson Yards, Hotel Beacon, Rockefeller Center and The Museum of Modern Art.

Colombian Embassy presented a photography exhibition during Culture Night to showcase the diversity of the Colombian Caribbean.
The Colombian Embassy held its first Culture Night in Dublin with an exhibition of ‘The Black Line’" by Colombian photographer Coque Gamboa, depicting the sacred landscapes of the Sierra de Santa Marta. Gamboa's photography exhibition, which displays the cosmogony of indigenous peoples of the Sierra de Santa Marta, encouraged the public to think about our relationship with the environment and the need to protect it.

Team Miriam Skelly, Don Shearer, James Tobin and Tom Randells were the ‘leading Team’ and will happily ‘sell the dream’ that is Golf Rompido as they brought the course and their fellow ITAA golf colleagues to their knees in admiration after their stunning victory at Club de Golf Rapido last week at the ITAA Golf day in the province of Huelva.

Travelbiz’s roving reporter, Marian Benton, was delighted to attend lunch in the Shelbourne Hotel hosted by the Amadeus team of Neil Rogan (Head of Global External Communications) from Amadeus’ head office in Madrid, as well as Rob Golledge (Head of Corporate Communications) from their London office and of course, our own Olwen McKinney (Sales Manager Ireland). Invited guests represented corporate, retail and leisure travel companies, consortia and press.

Aer Lingus is to restart its daily service to Hartford Connecticut direct from Dublin, as the airline continues to rebuild and grow its transatlantic network.
This follows the recent announcement of flights to Cleveland Ohio, which is a brand new north american destination for Aer Lingus and will be part of its summer 2023 schedule.
Hartford marks Aer Lingus’ 16th transatlantic route from Ireland and the 19th from the UK.
The daily service will resume from 26 March next year and will be a critical milestone for Bradley International Airport as Aer Lingus will operate its only direct service to Europe.

In a major boost for Shannon Airport, United Airlines announced it will operate a new daily nonstop seasonal service from Chicago to Shannon next summer 2023.
The new service will commence on 26th May ‘23, departing Shannon daily at 09:30am on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft for Chicago O’Hare International Airport, a major US hub.
Commenting on the new service Martina Coogan (United Country Sales Manager Ireland) said: “As the only U.S. airline to offer direct flights from Shannon, we are excited to announce this further expansion of our route network from Ireland to the U.S.”.

There has been another boost for Shannon Airport as Ryanair announced two new routes and a third based aircraft, which will create an additional 30 direct jobs at the Airport.
Two exciting new destinations to Béziers in the South of France and Newcastle in the UK will begin operating from Shannon in summer 2023. The new twice weekly Béziers service will run Mondays and Saturdays from the 27th March ‘23 and a Newcastle service will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 26th of March ‘23.
