Westjet’s new Dublin - Calgary flight series was celebrated in Dublin’s Westin Hotel and Jacinta Mc Glynn (Travelbiz) is in attendance to report on the latest news. Cindy Ady (CEO Tourism Calgary) hosted our lunch and Eileen Penrose, representing Westjet in Dublin, introduced Cindy and welcomed her to Dublin. The venue was Morelands Grill in the wonderful Westin Hotel where we learned about Calgary and the Province of Alberta.

The flight operation is three times weekly between Dublin and Calgary and it’s set to be a runaway success. Western Canada is opening up to Ireland and with Westjet’s fantastic new 787 Dreamliner, the route will have a smooth take off. Calgary has tons to offer from the annual Stampede (in July), where rodeos and cowboys take centre stage to an exciting and eclectic arts & culture heritage. Explore Canada from Calgary and visit the Rocky Mountains, Banff, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump in the Porcupine Hills, the “hoodoos” and many of Alberta’s World Heritage Sites close by. Intriguing. Combine with the friendly natives, who could resist Calgary?
