To promote their recently launched route from Istanbul to Bali, Turkish Airlines joined forces with Bali hotels represented by UK based Unique Travel Representation for a Fam trip to this beautiful Indian Ocean destination. The trip included white water rafting, a guided tour of Ubud, a Bali cultural tour and time to explore the region and resorts. Travelbiz was the exclusive media partner for the trip and Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz) joined Onur Gul (Marketing Executive Turkish Airlines) and Sharan Bearman (Business Development Manager Unique Travel Representation) along with seven Irish travel agents on the trip.

Hasan Mutlu (GM Ireland Turkish Airlines) was on hand at Dublin Airport to wish Bon Voyage to the group. Before boarding the THY flight from Dublin to Istanbul, the group went through Fast Track and had time for a leisurely visit to the DAA Lounge. The 16.00hrs TK1978 arrived in the New Istanbul Airport a little over 4 hours later. This new Turkish Airlines hub at IST is a sight to be seen, it is a magnificent facility that is bright, spacious and un-crowded, unlike the old terminal. There is a vast array of shops and dining options which the convenient two and a half-hour connection time to the Bali flight gives time to explore.

The new 13-hour Turkish Airlines IST/Bali (Denpasar) DPS flight is operated by the renowned Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. While the group travelled in the 3-3-3 economy cabin, they had an opportunity to pay a quick visit to inspect the 1-2-1 Business Class cabin before pax boarded the homeward flight - a definite Turkish delight. A Star Alliance member, Turkish Airlines which flies to more countries than any other airline in the world, fly to 310 destinations in 124 countries and is the largest international air network in the world with a fleet of 338 aircraft. THY flies twice daily year-round DUB-IST.

All four of the THY flights on this Fam trip offered their famous Turkish hospitality with tasty meals and a wide choice of beverages combined with professional friendly service. The In-flight entertainment system, with individual seatback screens, unique on airlines in Europe operating 4-hour flights, meant that time flew as there is a great choice of movies, music and even live TV as well as games and programmes specially chosen for children.
