Stena Lina celebrated its second year of sponsorship at Dublin’s prestigious Horse Show at the RDS this year and Jacinta Mc Glynn from Travelbiz joined the illustrious group to press the horse flesh. Lawrence Duffy (Duffy Rafferty Communications (DRC)), hosted our delicious lunch, then we galloped to the Grandstand for some horsing around.

Slap my fetlock but top horsey manoeuvres were underway and nations jumped the hurdles to win the coveted Aga Khan trophy, which was won by Britain. The show-jumping arena looked magnificent and gleaming horses were in fine fettle. Glamorous riders, saddled up on thoroughbred mounts, skin-tight jodhpurs, knee-high boots and velvet hats as they leapt before us to compete in this glorious sport. Pungent aromas of fresh grass and pounding hooves is a heady mix. The crowd was mesmerised. The annual Horse Show is televised to millions and Stena Line’s sponsorship is a superb gesture in maintaining its success. On the crest of a wave, Stena Line maintains its stellar position on the Irish Sea and ploughs its furrow to ferry passengers and cargo safely and seamlessly between Ireland and the UK. Whilst this is a horse of a different colour (whoa that’s enough now), Stena Line’s sponsorship of the Horse Show ties in nicely. Tally ho.
