Maldives Government offers Optional Covid Insurance cover

16th October 2020 - 1:30pm

#traveltrdaetogether

In order to promote safe tourism to Maldives, as of 10 September, the Maldives Government introduced the mandatory requirement for a Covid Negative PCR certificate for all tourists entering the Maldives. This must be issued no later than 72 hours prior to arrival.

Furthermore, with certain airlines now requiring a Negative PCR Certificate, all our resorts are providing ‘in-resort’ Ccovid testing for those who require certificates for their return journey.

From the 09th of October, the Maldives Government has announced it will offer optional Covid insurance to all tourists to Maldives that covers for specific expenses tourists may incur due to a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 while on vacation in Maldives. The policy can be purchased in advance and costs between USD$25 and USD$45 per person, depending on the guest’s duration of stay and the limits to the policy cover.
