Tourism Ireland announces partnership with GoPro to inspire adventure travel to Ireland

#Traveltradetogether

High-energy Tourism Ireland and GoPro campaign set to deliver 50M opportunities to see (reach) in the US alone.

Tourism Ireland has unveiled an exciting new partnership with leading action camera brand GoPro, to highlight Ireland as a must-visit destination for adventure travel.

The collaboration involved seven GoPro brand ambassadors travelling across Ireland in May, capturing stunning content using their GoPro cameras at some of our most breathtaking locations – from the vibrant streets of Dublin, to the dramatic coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way and the rugged beauty of Northern Ireland.

The GoPro brand ambassadors – Susi Vidal, Connor Trimble, Will Strathmann, Paige Tingey, Paddy Mack, Harry McNulty and Marissa Meizz – have been sharing the content they captured here with their fans and followers on their social media channels, including with their combined 3+ million followers on Instagram.

The aim of the campaign is to showcase Ireland’s fantastic offering for adventure-loving travellers. As well as the brand ambassadors sharing the content on their own social channels, it will also be shared globally on GoPro’s digital and social platforms, including on the GoPro YouTube and Instagram channels, which have a combined reach of 32 million, and the GoPro website. Tourism Ireland will also share content on its Instagram, YouTube and Facebook channels, as well as on a specially created page on its international website, Ireland.com. The campaign will run until the end of this year and is expected to deliver almost 50 million opportunities to see (reach) in the US alone.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “Tourism Ireland is really excited to partner with GoPro for the first time, to shine a spotlight on Ireland as a must-visit destination for adventure travel – tapping into the demand for active, outdoor and experience-rich travel. It’s a fantastic opportunity to engage a wide audience of passionate travellers who are always looking for their next adventure and inspire them to see Ireland not just as a vacation destination, but as an adventure waiting to happen!”

Kelly Baker, Senior Director of Global Communications and Influencer Marketing at GoPro, shared that the collaboration with Tourism Ireland was a perfect match for the brand: “We are always looking to bring GoPro creators to bucket list destinations and provide them with adventure travel experiences they will never forget.”

Baker continued: “The island of Ireland overdelivered in every way – from stunning landscapes and jaw-dropping castles to the friendliest locals and entertaining live trad music and Irish dance. We can’t wait for the world to experience Ireland through the lens of a GoPro and the eyes of our creators.”
