KwaZulu Fam - Declan was in KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa
19th July 2017 - 10:35am
Tourism KwaZulu-Natal (TKZN) hosted a 10 day educational Fam trip to their province in the south east of South Africa and Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz) was the sole travel trade media representative from both Britain and Ireland on the tour reporting exclusively for Travelbiz. KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), known as the Zulu Kingdom, has a subtropical climate so it is not surprising the province is famous for outdoor activities, beaches, natural environment, sporting events and a variety of adventure activities, many of which were included in the action packed itinerary. The trip took in a comprehensive range of activities, excursions and visits to some of the regions outstanding tourist attractions. KZN is often described as “South Africa in a nutshell” as it has everything to offer the visitor including beaches, famous battlefield sites, private games reserves, Nelson Mandela historical sites, the Drakensberg mountains, and much more besides. KZN is about the size of Portugal and its largest city is Durban. The genial host on the trip was Reggie Sithole (Region Coordinator Tourism KwaZulu-Natal) who appeared to know everyone in the province. Reggie is a Zulu and he regaled our group throughout the trip with interesting information about Zulu traditions and customs.
