International Pow Wow (IPW) took place in the host city of Washington DC where a large contingent of the Irish trade attended.   Travelbiz Features Editor Declan Mescall was there to report to the Irish travel trade.   Over the first few days the US Travel Association extended a “One Big Welcome” to 6,300 buyers, suppliers and media from over 70 countries.   This is the 49th annual IPW event and last year nearly 75 million international travellers visited the US.   Washington was excited to host this prestigious gathering and is pulling out all the stops to showcase all the city has to offer visitors. Declan flew as a guest of Aer Lingus on their direct flight from Dublin to Dulles International Airport and was delighted to report the excellent onboard service mean it was a very enjoyable flight and even arrived one hour ahead of schedule.   As they say “Smart flies Aer Lingus”.
