In response to bookings across its Peru itineraries for 2020/21, G Adventures is launching an ‘Inca Trail Step Challenge’ as part of a wider campaign to help educate agents on Peru’s diverse experiences. Having been named The Best Inca Trail Operator in Peru, the Inca Trail maintains its place among G Adventures' top-selling tours.

When it’s safe to travel, the new interactive Inca Trail Steps Challenge will run in partnership with Craghoppers, to help enhance agents’ understanding and knowledge on all aspects of the iconic trek.

Running from 15th to 18th June 2020, the Inca Trail Steps challenge will see travel agents from across Ireland and the UK accumulate the 55,000 steps it takes to hike the Inca Trail. Supported by the G Adventures trade sales team, who will deliver Inca Trail facts, photos, videos and stories throughout the week, agents can take on the challenge either as a team or solo.

Every agent who completes the full 55,000 steps over the 4-day challenge will be entered into a competition to win a pair of Salado Desert Hi Boots from Craghoppers’ new footwear range, worth £120.

“Peru has always been a key destination for G Adventures,” comments Brian Young (MD G Adventures), “It’s encouraging to see the first green shoots of bookings from travellers looking to return to this incredible destination, and we are committed to helping upskill and support our agents, through fun and interactive campaigns, to help them offer the expertise and knowledge travellers are looking for”.

The new Inca Trail Steps challenge will run as part of a wider Peru campaign, which will include dedicated agent training and webinars on Peru’s diverse regions, communities and trip offerings, from the active adventures such as the Lares and Salkantay Treks and the biodiverse Amazon rainforest to the lesser-visited northern regions, which can be explored as part of the National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures collection.

Agents wanting to participate in the Inca Trail Steps Challenge can register here and join the G Adventures Agents of Change Facebook Group for more information and Inca Trail fun. Using a step tracker, agents can submit their daily step count to
