GTI, the group travel specialist tour operator hosted a select group of travel agents and media including Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz), on a whistle stop guided tour of the World War 1 Belgian and French battlefields of Flanders and the Somme. The very experienced GTI team of Derek Keogh (MD), Paula Reilly (Operations Dept.) and Peter Murphy (Sales Dept) accompanied the group.

Iain McHenry, a former intelligence officer with the Royal Military Police who is a historian, author and all round WW1 fountain of knowledge was the tour manager. This special 3 day fam trip is usually spread over 4 days when marketed to the public, and is one of a large range of high quality escorted holidays operated by GTI which include historical and battlefield tours, tailor-made cultural holidays in Europe and worldwide as well as agricultural, activity and sports tours. Our tour concentrated on locations associated with the many thousands of young Irish soldiers who fought and died in the Great War of 1914-1918.
