Falcon/Thomson FAM - Making a Splash in Gran Canaria - Paradise Valle Taurito
9th August 2017 - 4:20pm
This TUI Splashworld property is an elegant, modern hotel is built into the cliffside, with views of the valley and sea from all rooms. It is at the upper end of four stars in terms of style, rooms and facilities within the hotel. It has a buffet style restaurant with children’s section, a mini club for 4-12-year-olds and a Spa & Wellness centre for the grownups. The hotel has a quiet pool and sun lounger area on the first-floor balcony with poolside snack bar. The rooms are modern and generously sized with my favourite being those with a pool-side terrace (gate on the terrace opens directly to the pool area on the first floor) - ideal for parents with water babies.
Even though the hotel itself is a very high standard resort, there’s more, much more. It is a mere c.100 meters from the beachfront and facing the hotel is a host of facilities including an abundance of shops, boutiques, bars and cafes. There is a bowling alley, mini golf, sports courts etc., however, the highlight for most kids and adults alike is the substantial waterpark on its doorstep.
The waterpark is free for Splashworld guests, with unlimited access (is opposite the main reception) and this includes drinks and snacks (burgers/pizza/sandwiches & chips etc.). There are at least a dozen water slides, multiple swimming pools and ample loungers to relax under the sunshine. It caters for all ages with a pirate ship for toddlers and a semi free fall drop that makes your knees knock before you slide down it (or turn and walk back down the flights of stairs from fear). My children sacrificed me to another large barrel tipping water. We happily spent 6 hours here with plenty to enjoy, just remember the sunscreen!
