H.E. General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove (Governor General of Australia) was joined by H.E Richard Andrews (the Australian Ambassador to Ireland) to host a reception in the CHQ Building, Dublin to celebrate the warm friendship between Australia and Ireland. The occasion coincided with the achievement of a major milestone in the iconic Working Holiday Visa Programme as over 275,000 young Irish people have availed of the visa programme to travel and work in Australia. Beatrice Cosgrove (Area GM Northern Europe Etihad Airways) presented a prize of flight tickets to Rachel Gavin who was the 275,000 successful visa applicant. Prior to the event guided tours were conducted of the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum in CHQ to explore Australia and Ireland’s shared past.
