Atlantic Travel’s World of Possibilities in 2018
9th January 2018 - 11:40am
Emma Mc Hugh (MD Atlantic Travel Worldchoice) reports on early trading from her business in Letterkenny. Emma was the winner of the RCCL €20,000 shop makeover in 2017, see pictures of her new store.
“No surprise in that trading year on year to date is up on last year. Trends are that cruising is still an extremely popular choice with a lot of interest in new ships being launched by various cruise companies. Alongside the family summer sun to the ever popular Balearics, Canary Islands and camping holidays, we have seen a marked increase in luxury long haul amongst millennials. Second and third holidays are being planned for 2018 within this group.
From our perspective Belfast is still the preferred departure airport for our clients, with Ireland West and Dublin second and third respectively. City of Derry is selling well on its route to Majorca with TUI.
Significant growth of the camping holiday has been seen and continues to emerge into 2018 – very little sailing from this neck of the woods though!
We are still seeing significant price differences between Belfast and Dublin for package holidays.”
