American Airlines, Dallas & Fort Worth - Big Things Happen Here!

American Airlines & WTC Fam to Dallas & Fort Worth

American Airlines & WTC Fam to Dallas & Fort Worth

Caitriona Toner (American Airlines) and Francis McCabe (World Travel Centre) hosted a Fam trip to Northern Texas, taking in Wildcatter Ranch, Dallas and Fort Worth. The group boarded an American Airline B787-9 Dreamliner, flying Dublin to Dallas direct on an already hugely popular service. Joining the travelling party on this 5-day adventure was Travelbiz’s Shane Cullen.

Shane travelled business class from Dublin via Charlotte to meet the group at Dallas Fort Worth Airport. The business class experience starts before you board the plane. Fast track meant first in line at security and pre-clearance done in under 10 minutes, followed by access to the luxurious and slick 51st & Green lounge area. Stocked with a broad buffet breakfast counter and a barista on hand to serve speciality coffees, this is a very comfortable lounge.

Shane boarded the American Airlines plane in the safe hands of Captain Hans Bagnal on his final flight ahead of retiring. Given the emotion and sentiment of his colleagues, he must have been a hugely popular member of the crew. As the plane landed, the water cannons were ready and waiting, shooting an arch of water across the nose.

American Airlines has an impressive entertainment offering, including the full Star Wars collection amongst other new and classic blockbusters, outstanding noise-cancelling headphones as well as great food, e.g. prawns with orange segments, followed by a mixed green salad with sun-dried tomatoes & parmesan; beefsteak for mains followed by a Ben & Jerrys sundae with butterscotch sauce.

Dallas’ tagline of ‘Big Things Happen Here’ reflects the impressive itinerary covers Dallas and neighbouring Fort Worth (30 miles east) and incorporates a host of activities that would fulfill a childhood and grown-up’s bucket list: overnight stay at a cattle ranch, seeing a rodeo and a Texas Longhorn cattle drive, watching the Texas Motor Speedway and swigging a longneck bottle of beer at a country music bar.
