Turkish Airlines and Icelandair sign a codeshare agreement
6th June 2023 at 11:01 am Turkish Airlines and Icelandair have signed a codeshare agreement. With this agreement, the two airlines will be providing seamless connections to their customers and expand the number of destinations on both carriers’ networks.
Icelandair passengers in North America and Iceland can connect eastbound via Turkish Airlines’ network to Istanbul; and Turkish Airlines’ worldwide passengers will be able to connect via Icelandair’s network to Iceland and Canada.

Yvonne Manzi Makolo, who took over the position at the 79th Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held in Istanbul, is the first woman to assume this duty at IATA and will continue for one year. Mehmet T. Nane remains as a member of the Executive Committee for one more year.
UNWTO and MSC Foundation to deliver sustainable tourism education at sea
6th June 2023 at 8:59 am UNWTO is working with the MSC Foundation to deliver a series of sustainability-related education courses on board the MSC Euribia cruise ship.
The initiative builds on the success of the first Global Youth Tourism Summit, held in Sorrento, Italy, in 2022, and will see the creation of the MSC Foundation Youth Lab, a specially-equipped venue on the advanced new eco-ship. One of the core programmes to be offered in the Youth Lab will be "GYTS for MSC: A Sustainable Future for Our Next Generations”, designed in close partnership with UNWTO.

A total of 61 RIU hotels located in 16 different countries have been honoured with this award: Aruba (1), Cape Verde (4), Dominican Republic (1), Germany (1), Ireland (1), Jamaica (5), Maldives (2), Mexico (11), Morocco (5), Panama (2), Portugal (1), Senegal (1), Spain (21), Tanzania (1), United Arab Emirates (1) and United States (3). In addition, four of these hotels have received a Best of the Best award, which identifies the best hotels in the top 1% of establishments listed on the digital platform.
