Culture
Cleveland is about individual differences, and the city cannot be described as stereotypical or cliched. In fact, one of its most fundamental characteristics, are the positive cultural benefits, from having embraced the contributions of more than the 100 different ethnicities that make up its population.
Stroll the tree lined sidewalks of the city’s historic neighbourhoods where chefs who have trained around the world infuse their own piquant flavours into the menus of the culinary scene. So much of what is known as “uniquely Cleveland” can be traced back to the hardworking immigrants and Americans who came to Cleveland seeking a better life.

Our People. Our Pride. This is CLE.
Nothing about Cleveland is cookie cutter. In fact, one of our most fundamental characteristics as a city is that we’re made up of more than 100 ethnicities.
From the treelined sidewalks of the city’s historic neighborhoods to infusing our own piquant flavors into the menus of our culinary scene, so much of what is known as “uniquely Cleveland” can be traced back to the hardworking immigrants and Americans who came to Cleveland seeking a better life.
Our city owes so much to our Black history and the contributions of those Black leaders and innovators who changed the very fabric of our nation. Our LGBTQ+ community infuses pride, acceptance and progressive thinking into our city. While our international community — brimming from La Villa Hispana and Little Arabia on the west side, to Little Italy and AsiaTown in the east — reminds us every day that Cleveland truly is a rich tapestry of culture.
