The Travel Counsellors Conference is a big event in the Irish Travel Industry and the team in Cork have just announced the dates and venue for 2024 and are asking their Trade Business Partners to save the date.
The conference is returning to Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny on Thursday and Friday 11th & 12th April 2024.
For us, it’s all about the relationships with our Trade Partners. At our 2023 conference we chatted with some well-known people in the Irish Travel Trade, to find out from their perspective, what it’s like to work with our community; we recorded some videos that we think you will enjoy, and we’d like to thank all those that took part.
Suzanne Rowe, Head of Sales Ireland at MSC Cruises is passionate about the brand she represents and she’s become a hugely important and positive member of the travel industry since she joined in early 2019. Suzanne chatted with Gold Travel Counsellor Sinead Lonergan and Business Development Manager, Bernie Whelan from the Cork Office about sharing knowledge and expertise on all things cruise. She also talks about how important it is to build strong relationships.
Tara Magee, like many of our trade partners, understands that to sell a destination, first-hand experience can be invaluable. So, in May she headed to Nashville with 6 Travel Counsellors and Caitriona from American Airlines. 3 of them flew with British Airways to experience the product, while the other 3 enjoyed the transatlantic services of American Airlines. The group of 8 had an amazing time in music city and naturally sales have soared since then. Once they returned, the six Travel Counsellors set up a webinar to share their experiences with the rest of the 80 strong TC community here in Ireland.
Meet Eleanor Roche from Waterford, who left the world of Chartered Accounting at one of the “Big Five” firms to set up her own business through the Travel Counsellors Academy Programme. Following her passion for all things travel, particularly spending many holidays on board cruise ships, Eleanor used her contacts from her old life to establish herself as a concierge travel expert, specialising in all things cruise, and her business has gone from strength to strength.
