Former Iberostar MICE leader joins Spring Hotels
Spring Hotels Accelerates MICE Growth with Appointment of Former Iberostar Leader Tania Mesa.
Spring Hotels has appointed former Iberostar MICE leader Tania Mesa as Director of Groups & Events as the Tenerife hotel group continues to expand its international meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) offering, building on the acquisition of Mare Nostrum Resort in Playa de las Américas.

Mesa joins Spring Hotels at a pivotal moment for the group, with one of the largest event infrastructures in south Tenerife now under its management. In this newly created role, she will lead the strategic development of Spring Hotels’ growing groups and events division, shaping its future direction and supporting the next phase of growth for the group’s international meetings and events offering.
Previously, Tania spent almost nine years with Iberostar, where she most recently served as MICE Manager for the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. During her tenure, she led the development of meetings and events business across international markets, building strong relationships across the sector and helping raise Tenerife’s profile as a destination for international meetings and incentive travel.

With experience spanning hotel operations, event management and MICE sales, Mesa brings extensive commercial expertise and an established international network to the role. She has also represented Tenerife at major trade fairs and industry events, working closely with partners across the global meetings and incentives sector.
Mare Nostrum Resort is home to the Pirámide de Arona auditorium, one of the largest event venues in the Canary Islands, with capacity for up to 1,600 delegates. Alongside this, the resort offers more than 20 meeting spaces and a 1,200m² exhibition area, significantly expanding Spring Hotels’ capability to host international congresses, corporate groups and incentive travel programmes.
Jo Robinson, Chief Sales Officer at Spring Hotels, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tania to Spring Hotels at such an exciting and important moment for our groups and events business. Her extensive international experience, commercial expertise and strong industry relationships make her exceptionally well placed to support our continued growth.
“With the addition of Mare Nostrum Resort and its significant event infrastructure, we see a major opportunity to strengthen Spring Hotels’ appeal for congresses, corporate groups and incentive travel, while building even stronger relationships across our core markets.”
Tania added: “I am excited to join Spring Hotels at such an important moment for the group. The opportunity to help shape and grow the groups and events offering from this stage is incredibly exciting, particularly with the strength of facilities now available.
“Tenerife has enormous potential as a year-round destination for international meetings and incentive travel, and I look forward to working with the team and our partners to create new opportunities for growth.”
