Uber trendy The Ivy on Dublin’s Dawson Street was the venue for a media lunch hosted by Visit Belfast. Jacinta Mc Glynn (Senior Reporter Travelbiz) was in attendance to report on all items of interest coming out of beautiful Belfast. Our gracious host, Ann Mc Mullan (Visit Belfast), warmly welcomed guests and updated us on Belfast’s unmissable moments. It’s hot property up there presently with new hotels burgeoning throughout the city and, as Ann says, “you build ‘em and we’ll fill ‘em!”

Tourism is on the rise and Belfast was even voted Lonely Planet’s No. 1 region to visit in 2018. Richard Wakely teased us with news of the upcoming Belfast International Arts Festival with Isabella Rossellini performing her one woman show; Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo touring her Talking Heads album and a session with US folk and blues legend Eric Bibb. The cultural extravaganza starts in October, so get into gear and get to Belfast. The fabulous Titanic Centre is also a must see and National Geographic has recently pledged $500.000 towards the Titanic Artefacts campaign. Brilliant Belfast begs a visit. It’s a happening place and it’s just up the road. By the way, The Ivy is really cool. Just like Belfast.
