The Association of Women Travel Executives Ireland are always ahead of the posse. Recognising that change in travel habits and booking patterns are inevitable and, as technology changes, realise so must business. Travelport in Dublin hosted this mesmerising event with experts in technology and digital marketing leading the way and offering practical tips to staff that can be utilised with immediate effect. Asking searching questions of business managers as to the digital strategy they employ in their organisations, this was game changing stuff to prepare for the future.

Virtual reality and augmented reality were discussed and it would appear that 80% of clients actually get their advice from Instagram! So, is this the new norm? If this is what clients are looking at, then give them what they want. The experience must be provided. Artificial Intelligence provided by Alexa and Siri analyse behaviours and needs. Connected devices in every home are now pretty standard, so Artificial Intelligence pre-determines what we want and algorithms and scripts are written to be more intelligent in their answers. Travelport aims to make this available to all. The acronym AWTE could easily translate as Awesome Women are Technical Experts!
