Jacinta McGlynn (Senior Reporter Travelbiz) reports from the OBEO Travel & Worldchoice Namibia trip of a lifetime.

Our walk with cheetah at dusk thrills us as she’s replete from her impala kill, so we actually get up close and personal and imagine her catapult into the chase with her aerodynamic body built for speed and agility. Nimble and elegant in pursuit. Okonjima is home to AfriCat Foundation to rehabilitate predators and the reserve is home to an astonishing array of animals. The sky is like an old bruise, blushing pink and streaking yellow at the edges as we sip our sundowners and consider how privileged we are. In the face of nature, this beauty beyond words is quite humbling. Magical, moving and emotional.

We see impala, springbok and warthog. Carolanne O’Neill (Worldchoice), hereinafter called Hawkeye Annie, remains watchful for animal signs, cries wolf several times, but usually comes up with the goods. She was last seen applying to AfriCat for a position as guide. However, Big game hunter Michael Doorley (Shandon Travel) dissuaded her and assured her that Worldchoice was a safer bet. Literally. We rest up in our lovely lodges with the strange noises of the bush which will be our evensong for the next few days.
