Jacinta Mc Glynn (Senior Reporter Travelbiz) had the pleasure of attending an evening in the salubrious surroundings of the Royal College of Physicians on Dublin’s Kildare Street to celebrate the Paradores of Spain which are represented in Ireland by MAP Travel. Paradores are fabulous inns or hotels, each with a wonderful setting. They are converted manor houses, abbeys, royal lodges or historical castles, but all immersed in history and heritage. The Paradores are located on stunning sites - in National Parks, on UNESCO World heritage sites, with ocean views or along the Camino Way – their commonality is their upmarket quality and commitment to superb service.

Official agent in Ireland for The Paradores, MAP Travel is 20 years in business this year and, testament to their loyal and faithful following, the room was full to overflowing with satisfied customers. His Excellency, Sr Jose Maria Rodriguez-Coso, Ambassador of Spain to Ireland, was also in attendance and made an impassioned speech in favour of the beautiful Paradores. Mainland Spain and the Canary Islands have 97 Paradores in total and each is unique and amazing. Juan Jose Gonzalez (Sales Director Paradores) equally urged everyone to visit The Paradores and, starting at an incredible €120 per room per night, who could afford not to. We’ve all heard of Spanish Matadors and even Troubadours, but now MAP Travel brings us Paradores! MAP Travel (Marian & Patricia) is synonymous with magnificent and professional. Paradores par excellence.
