It’s Time for New York City as Fred Dixon (President and CEO of NYC & Company) welcomed the Irish travel trade to new openings and developments in New York City’s five boroughs.

Don Shearer (Travelbiz) had the great pleasure to Interview Fred Dixon (President and CEO of NYC & Company) and Tryphavana Cross (Sales & Marketing and PR Director NYC & Company) before last week’s trade gathering to celebrate developments and opportunities in Ireland’s number one USA destination, New York City.

Fred’s visit to Ireland is the first media visit to present to the travel trade since the pandemic.

Don’s discussion with Fred and Tryphavana centered around the resumption of lift from Ireland to New York with all of our carriers in Ireland with great connectivity from Dublin and Shannon provided by Aer Lingus, United Airlines, American Airlines and British Airways, with reports of a high level of enquiries and bookings via retail and corporate sectors.

“As New York City is known for constant renewal and reinvention and we welcome a multitude of new openings and developments, we are so pleased to be back in Ireland, reminding media and travellers of all the world-class tourism and hospitality businesses, attractions, and unique neighbourhoods experiences that make a visit to NYC so special. We greatly look forward to welcoming Irish visitors back to the five boroughs, this year and beyond”, said Fred Dixon (President and CEO of NYC & Company).

Highlights for you to share include.

New York City expected to recover almost 60% of Irish visitation this year and over 80% in 2023

NYC & Company, the official destination marketing organisation and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs of New York City hosted its first in-person media and trade engagement since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, an intimate special event at The Westbury Hotel to learn about new and exciting developments and openings in the five boroughs. Fred Dixon, the organisation’s President and CEO provided timely New York City updates and met with top Irish media, members of the travel trade and meeting planners as NYC continues to welcome back international travel. As part of this western European tour, NYC & Company is also attending the SITE Global Conference this week at The Convention Centre Dublin, in addition to holding press and trade events in Paris and London.
