Island Marketing and the Maldives thank the trade
9th February 2018 - 9:30am
Jacinta Mc Glynn (Senior Reporter Travelbiz) had the pleasure of attending an evening in Bang Restaurant in Dublin hosted by Brian McCarthy (Island Marketing) to offer thanks to the trade and media for their support in promoting travel to The Maldives. Delightful personnel from Kuramathi and Kandolhu travelled all the way from their amazing atolls to meet the Irish and encourage us all to visit The Maldives. As if an excuse was needed! For anyone who has had the immense privilege to set a sandy footprint on these little corners of heaven it is apparent that paradise really does exist.
Brian McCarthy presented stunning images of turquoise seas and pearly sand fringed atolls and introduced Mr Abdul Latheef (General Manager), Ms Asma Rasheed (Director of Business Development) and Mr Hussan Thoufeeq (Director of Sales) who braved an Irish winter to see us. Brian explained that 4* superior Kuramathi is renowned as the best value All-Inclusive resort in The Maldives where choice is key with many room categories (Voya bathroom beauty products hail all the way from Sligo!) and varied meal plans. Neighbouring 5* deluxe Kandolhu is one of The Maldives best kept secrets. A small, intimate island with only 30 villas and an outstanding reef for snorkelling, this is honeymoon heaven for sure. The villas even have a wine cooler stocked with 30 bottles! With super flights into the capital Male operated by Turkish Airlines, The Maldives are begging to be explored. Kuramathi and Kandolhu are cracking destinations and Island Marketing & Turkish Airlines have let Irish travel agents in on the secret, so get cracking to book. A fabulous Maldivian prize of return flights and accommodation was won by Bernie Whelan (Travel Counsellor Cork) and the whole evening went with a Bang.
