The Irish travel trade, along with Travelbiz's Shane Cullen, descended on Southampton to board the Celebrity Edge's European launch. The two-night stay began with a rapid boarding, a quick bag drop at the cabin, a peek at the view through the "infinite balcony" which does make the cabin feel light and roomy. Then it was cruising the corridors with my camera and tripod to absorb as much of the ship's atmosphere and facilities before the tours began.

There was an agent's appreciation night in the Eden Bar with a few drinks and a lot of laughs amongst the gang. Jo Rzymowska (Managing Director, Celebrity Cruises, UK, Ireland & Asia) thanked the contingent for their continued support. Her view is that with first-hand experience, it proves to those on board that this ship is a game changer and she is right. After a 5 star meal in the Blu restaurant, we retired to the ship's nightclub, The Club, which had trendy pop blaring and ariel performers overhead. Shapes were thrown on the dancefloor, and a few celebrities were spotted in the crowd before we tucked into my favourite part of the night - late night buffet (Oceanview Café open till 2 am). Genius.
