Barry Jackson (ex United) joins Belfast International Airport
15th July 2017 - 9:30am
Belfast International Airport has made two new appointments to its Business Development Department, in light of growing passenger numbers and a significant increase in routes. Barry Jackson, one of Northern Ireland’s best known and liked trade members, has been appointed as External Relations Manager. Barry was formerly Sales Manager for United Airlines and joins the airport with unparalleled knowledge of the Northern Ireland transatlantic market and a wealth of general industry knowledge. Barry will report to the airport’s Business Development Director, Uel Hoey, and will be primarily responsible for developing external relationships and partnerships with tourist boards, tour operators, travel trade and industry bodies.
Laura McClements has been appointed as Digital Marketing Executive and will oversee the airport’s digital and social platforms. Laura joins the company from Camp America and will report to the airport’s PR and Marketing Manager, Deborah Harris.
Uel Hoey (Business Development Director) said, “With such a significant increase in passenger numbers we recognised the need to bolster our current team to maintain momentum and move towards the next stage of growth for the business. There is significant opportunity in developing our relationships with our local travel trade as well as working with inbound tour operators to boost and develop the services we have into Northern Ireland. Barry is the stand-out candidate to help us carry out this important task. Digital and social channels are also key to how we communicate with our many different audiences in the 21st century world, and we are delighted to welcome Laura with her with her considerable expertise in this field to the airport.”
