The Amalfi drive is said to be the most spectacular in Europe and from Sorrento the winding clifftop road offers continuous breath taking panoramic views. Our first stop was high above Positano, one of the jewels of this coastline, built on different levels from the main road all the way down to the sea like ‘a waterfall cascading down to the sea’. Further along the coast we made a stop at the Pascal Ceramics Workshop and Showroom before going onto the town of Amalfi, which gives its name to the whole coast on which it lies. We explored the cobbled backstreets of Amalfi before continuing to the medieval town of Ravello which nestles in the mountainside eleven hundred feet above the sea where we enjoyed some of the best views of the Amalfi coastline overlooking Minori, Maiori and beyond.
