Dave Thomas (Sales Director American Airlines UK & Ireland) was in Dublin during the week and met with Gerry Benson (Publisher & Editor Travelbiz) to update him on American Airlines in Ireland.   “Of course our first bit of good news is that Caitriona Toner has now been appointed Country Sales Manager for Ireland for American Airlines.   She now leads a great team to help increase our product and sales,” said Dave.   Dave has been with American for 24 years, starting as a Res Agent in Raleigh, then on to Russia,  back to the US and then to the UK.   “We are thrilled with our 5 flights a day from Ireland and both JFK and Philadelphia are doing very well.   In the summer around 80% of passengers are US originating while in winter there are more Irish travelling.   Our big markets are Florida, Cancun and Las Vegas, of course with our large internal network we offer a great range of destinations,” said Dave.   “We are fully committed to the Irish market and around 80% of our business in Ireland comes from the trade.   It’s more of the same for 2016,” added Dave. Travelbiz will shortly be launching a super new competition with American so keep reading!
