Heralding the advent of Israel’s airline EL AL flight service from Dublin to Tel Aviv from May 26th, Catherine Grennel-Whyte (MD of ATTS) invited media and trade to Brooks Hotel in Dublin’s city centre to learn about the upcoming series. Israel’s national carrier El Al is due to operate three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (a long weekend might be in order!) and this direct service into Tel Aviv can easily become an exciting two-centre trip with Jerusalem as an add-on. Remember, Israel is a small country and, from top to toe, can be accessed in an 8 hour drive.

Citing the vibrancy of Tel Aviv these days, the city is renowned for beautiful beaches, hopping nightlife scene and, latterly (perhaps thanks to Yotam Ottolenghi) as an amazing foodie destination. It has even been dubbed “the Mediterranean capital of cool”! Of course, Jerusalem needs no introduction and its iconic history and biblical charm are beyond legendary. This tiny country packs an incredible punch from the Negev desert, River Jordan, Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea’s super resort of Eilat. Roll on May 26th where a scanty 4-5 hour flight opens Israel as an accessible, exciting travel destination.

The hospitality of ATTS extended to a further surprise in Brooks’ own private cinema where “A Star is Born” featured and, armed with homemade crisps and a selection of sweeties, everyone settled in for a treat.
