Craig Donnelly (Accident & General)

Craig Donnelly of Accident & General explains that their business continuity plan is in force and their normal phone lines and office hours are continuing uninterrupted.

Policies sold from 5pm, 16 March will not have cover for third party insolvency, scheduled airline failure or cover for any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-COV-2) or any mutation or variation of these.

He has separated coverage issues between those policies already issued and those that will be issued after 5pm, 16 March. See the information page on A&G’s website.

The issuing system will also reflect these changes: The policy wording and insurance certificate have been amended and are live on the system. Any new policies issued after 5 pm, 16th March will be subject to these T&Cs. The new wording can also be accessed on A&G’s website:

A&G will be producing and distributing new policy booklets, summary sheets and sales collateral in due course. The system will now include a tick box to confirm that you have advised the client that the policy will not cover any claims relating to COVID-19. Please ensure that your clients are made aware of this at the point of sale.

Craig adds, “Thank you for your patience, we are working hard to be available and will continue to help and assist. It will be a difficult and challenging path that we will be traversing in the coming months and our thoughts are with you”.
