Visit Valencia Event Brings Mediterranean Charm to Cork
Cork recently played host to a captivating cultural event, as Visit Valencia made a stop at Aye on Anglesea Street. The event, attended by local media and travel trade representatives, showcased the vibrant culture, culinary delights, and rich tourism potential of Valencia.
The event kicked off with a glass of Agua de Valencia and a warm welcome from Eva Fernandez, representing Visit Valencia. Her presentation delved into the many attractions that make Valencia a must-visit destination. From the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences to the sun-drenched beaches, and the historic charm of the old town.
Adding a creative twist to the event, attendees were invited to participate in a unique activity: painting on edible wafer paper. This interactive session allowed guests to explore their artistic sides while also engaging with a traditional Valencian craft.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the paella-making demonstration led by Chef Rob Curley, World Paella Day finalist in 2021. Known for his expertise and passion for Spanish cuisine, Curley guided the attendees through the process of creating an authentic Valencian paella.
Guests had the opportunity to taste the freshly prepared paella, a true feast for the senses that captured the essence of Valencian gastronomy. The communal nature of paella-making and sharing resonated with the attendees, highlighting the warmth and hospitality inherent in Valencian culture.
A thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience celebrating Valencia and its culture.
