Virgin Media Television To Air Brand-New Documentary ‘Inside Aer Lingus’

Virgin Media Television will air a brand-new documentary on Monday night, giving viewers an insight into the inner workings of Aer Lingus. Filmed across one year, ‘Inside Aer Lingus’ pulls back the curtain to reveal what it really takes to keep an international fleet in the skies.

This primetime observational documentary follows the everyday working lives of airline employees.

With over 5,000 employees and almost 11 million passengers every year, this programme promises to be a fascinating and entertaining look at the people behind one of Ireland’s most prominent brands.

Across one hour, this documentary follows the people behind the business.

Aer Lingus are opening their doors to the nation, allowing an embedded camera crew to follow their day-to-day life.

This is a very human look at the airline and its workforce that follows the highs and lows that go with operating an international airline.

We will have key characters that will feature throughout the programme, whilst other contributors will link in with these overarching storylines.

Filming will cover a number of journeys:

Customer Service: Customer service and check-in staff will show us the daily trials and jubilations that come with running an airline.

New Recruits: New cabin crew being put through their paces and learning all the trade secrets.

Special Operations: The engine room of Aer Lingus, following the operations managers behind the airline. From special flights transporting the Irish men’s rugby team to making day to day logistical decisions.

Pilots: Pilot training in a facility in northern Spain that will give us a glimpse into what it takes to become a pilot for an international airline.

Sustainability: Following the ordering and deployment of an energy efficient Neo aircraft.
