USA Summer Soiree 2025 in Shelbourne

A huge Travelbiz Team shout of thanks to our hosts Shannon Airport, Brand USA, Discover Philadelphia, Visit Atlantic City, Visit New Jersey 🙂

Another super successful soiree organised by Michael Collins and his TravelMedia.ie team was held in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on July 10th. Oh what a night! The reception rooms bubbled with chat, camaraderie and networking and, as the wine flowed, the conversation reached mega decibels. The ballroom was festooned with balloons, red, white and blue banners, linen napery, twinkling candles and glowing chandeliers – all very fitting for a sophisticated evening to welcome our US visitors and sponsors.

Clare Dunne (CEO Irish Travel Agents Association) opened the proceedings and assured the audience that US travel had not diminished; on the contrary, with so many airlines and Irish airports servicing the States, it meant connectivity was at an all-time high. Great speeches followed from Jenny Rafter (Global Sales Aer Lingus), Jackie Ennis (VP Global Trade Development, Brand USA  ), Michael Shea (Bradley International Airport – BDL), Dublin Airport, Julie Greenhill (Discover Philadelphia CVB), Visit Connecticut TO and Western MASS, were all warmly greeted. Fervour for travel to the US was at fever pitch! The sponsors hailed their respective areas and expertise and all claimed US pre-clearance a distinct advantage.

Tour Operators, travel agents and suppliers were out in force at the Travelmedia summer soiree and with this level of support, it’s clear that America is one of our top favourite destinations both for leisure and business travel. In fact, Ireland really does punch above its weight as we are ranked 3rd in visitor numbers to the USA.
