United Airlines Thanksgiving Travel Forecast and Fast Facts
Travel Forecast:
United is expecting about 6.6 million customers over the Thanksgiving travel period (November 20 to December 2) – about 300,000 more people than 2024 and the most passengers we’ve ever flown during a Thanksgiving holiday.
The busiest travel days are expected AFTER Thanksgiving: approximately 600,000 people will fly on Sunday, Nov. 30 and the next busiest days are Saturday, Nov. 29 (560,000 people) and Monday, Dec. 1 (560,000 people).
Friday, Nov. 21 is expected to be the busiest pre-Thanksgiving travel day, followed by Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Bookings for Thanksgiving travel rose 15% the weekend after the shutdown ended (11/8-11/9 compared to 11/15 – 11/16).
