Tryphavana Cross from New York City Tourism has become the new Chairperson of the Visit USA Committee Ireland, following a member vote at the annual general meeting.

Tryphavana Cross (NYC & Company in Ireland) with Fred Dixon (President & CEO NYC & Company

Tryphavana Cross said: “I am delighted to be taking up the role as Chairperson of Visit USA Committee Ireland and look forward to continuing our mission to drive visitation to America. I would also like to thank my predecessor, Jenny Rafter, for all the hard work she has done over the last four years”.

During the meeting, Tara Magee from British Airways was voted in as Vice Chairperson, Jenny Rafter from Aer Lingus as Treasurer and Bladhana Richardson from American Holiday as Company Secretary.

The Irish visitation to the USA has rebounded strongly since the pandemic. 2023 is on track to see 86% of the passenger numbers of 2019. All Ireland’s pre-pandemic air routes to the USA have been restored and airlift has started to expand with the introduction of new routes, such Dublin – Denver. 18 US cities are now served with direct flights from Ireland.

The Visit USA AGM took place in Dean Hotel, Dublin on 12th December 2023.
