Travel Trade Falls for Boston—And What’s Not to Love?
#MeetBoston #AerLingus #Travelbizconnect #Travelbizhub #GodfreyHotel #CharlieCard Meet Boston
In the words of Barry Gibb (or our very own Barry Hammond), let’s sing it: “Feel I’m goin’ back to Massachusetts, Something’s telling me I must go home, and the lights all went out in Massachusetts, the day I left her standing on her own…” (Dympna Crowley). We simply don’t want to leave this incredible city! As we prepare to head back to Ireland tomorrow morning on Aer Lingus flights to Dublin and Shannon, we’ve packed every moment with unforgettable experiences.
A massive thanks to the Meet Boston team represented in Ireland by Tony Lane alongside Stacy Thornton (Director of Leisure Sales) and Kerri Cronin (Global Sales Manager) for curating a truly memorable Boston adventure for the Irish travel trade.
Highlights of today’s Boston Experience
A Warm Welcome at The Godfrey Hotel Boston
Nestled in the heart of the city, our stay at The Godfrey Hotel was nothing short of perfect. https://www.godfreyhotelboston.com/
Breathtaking Views at View Boston
A short stroll brought us to View Boston, a 360° observation deck offering stunning views of the city. It’s the perfect place to map out your Boston itinerary while soaking in the breathtaking skyline. https://viewboston.com/
Culinary and Cultural Journey Through Chinatown
With our CharlieCards in hand, we hopped on the train to Chinatown Gate for a fascinating walking tour. We explored the rich history, architecture, and hidden gems of Chinatown, including Chin Park and vibrant murals. Highlights included: Sampling exotic fruits at a local vendor. Visiting a traditional herbalist’s shop. Immersing ourselves in the sights and smells of a Chinese grocery store. Ending with an authentic dim sum experience, complete with etiquette tips and ordering know-how.
Boston’s Sporting Heritage at The Sports Museum
Next, we visited the Sports Museum, located in TD Garden, where we delved into Boston’s storied sports history. https://www.sportsmuseum.org/visit
Drinks and Dining Delight
After returning to The Godfrey for pre-dinner cocktails in the Lobby Bar, we enjoyed an extraordinary dinner at La Padrona. Voted Boston’s number one restaurant in 2024, La Padrona celebrates the finest New England ingredients, crafting dishes that honour local flavours. Dining here was a culinary journey we’ll always remember. https://www.lapadronaboston.com/
A Special Evening with Ryan Adams
Our night concluded with an intimate solo performance by Ryan Adams at the Shubert Theatre. Known for his prolific career and seven Grammy nominations, Adams treated us to a soulful show that was the perfect capstone to our Boston adventure. Don is a huge fan with all of Ryan’s albums in his vinyl collection.
Last Stop: Shopping and Culture
As we soak in our final moments in Boston, we’re squeezing in some shopping and cultural visits before our direct Aer Lingus flights home, joined by Lynsey Lamont, Business Development Manager for Aer Lingus.
Boston has left a lasting impression, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
