TIGS President’s Day at Headfort – A Day to Remember!

On Friday, we were delighted to host our TIGS President’s Day at the truly wonderful Headfort Golf Club in Kells, Co. Meath – and what a fantastic day it was!

Headfort boasts two exceptional courses, and we had the pleasure of taking on the Christy O’Connor-designed Championship Course. It proved to be a real test for golfers of every level, with stunning scenery, beautifully maintained grounds, and breathtaking views at every turn. The charm of Headfort shines through from the first tee to the final putt.

On arrival, President Martin Skelly gave everyone a very warm welcome, setting the tone for what was to come. We were treated to tea, coffee, freshly baked scones, and hearty breakfast baps – which proved to be very much appreciated (especially later in the day!).

A huge thank you to our long-term sponsor, Amadeus, whose continued support makes days like this possible. From the outing itself to the post-round drinks, we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing partnership.

While the Irish weather certainly made its presence felt – with persistent and, at times, very heavy rain – it did little to dampen the spirits of our dedicated players. In true TIGS fashion, everyone powered through and completed their rounds with great determination and good humour.

Following play, we gathered back in the clubhouse for drinks (again kindly sponsored by Amadeus) and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner – the perfect way to round off a memorable day.

President Martin thanked all who attended and acknowledged the fantastic work of the committee in keeping our wonderful society thriving. A special word of thanks was extended to Marian Benton and Dave Conlon for their efforts in organising such a successful event.
