TIGS First outing times available

#Traveltradetogether

Update form TIGS Captain for 2023 Marian Benton.

Our first TIGS outing of 2023 is just around the corner on Thursday 20 April at Portmarnock Links, Portmarnock, County Dublin. This will, unusually, be a 16-hole competition.  Portmarnock Links is currently undergoing a major revamp.

Some concerns have been expressed regarding the redevelopment work. John Spollen, who is a member there and played the course as recently sent us the following report:

“I had the most enjoyable round of golf in the Links last Monday morning.   As you know, significant renovation is going on at the course; the plan is to finish the work in early May”.

“The course layout has changed to accommodate the works, it is now just 16 holes and three temp greens.   As all the heavy work is almost completed, sods and grass all laid for the new holes, I found the course presented itself very well.   All other services are fully operational – Clubhouse, showers, practice areas, buggies etc”.

The members of TIGS should enjoy the outing on this lovely Links course – especially if the sun shines.

Portmarnock Links has been a popular venue in the past and we feel it is worth playing albeit just 16 holes.   When the work is completed, the rates may prove prohibitive, so this is a good opportunity to play it one more time!

Tee times: 11.00 hrs – 12.50 hrs.

Format: Singles stableford

Cost:  €80.00 Member – €90.00 Guest

We will also have a facility for membership renewals on the day.

Please note that your committee has decided that our outing to the Heritage on 18 May will be a fundraising event for our dear and esteemed friend and colleague, Robbie Smart.   Details to follow.

We look forward to seeing you on the day and to getting our TIGS year off to a good start.

Kind regards,

Marian and TIGS Committee
