Start Your Engines! Aer Lingus Racing to Indianapolis: Direct Flights from Dublin to Indianapolis Take Off in May 2025!

New direct route from Dublin to Indianapolis will commence on 3^rd May, 2025, with four flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

This new route will be operated by a new Airbus A321XLR, offering greater fuel efficiency, comfort and the latest in-flight technology.

Fares start from €499 return, including taxes, fees and carrier charges.

Aer Lingus today announced the launch of its latest new transatlantic route between Dublin and Indianapolis, an important business hub in the mid-west region of the United States. Indianapolis is home to the Indianapolis 500, the largest single-day sporting event in the world; hosts more than 500 national and international events annually; and welcomes more than 29 million visitors each year. The route, operated by Aer Lingus’ new state-of-the-art Airbus A321XLR aircraft, will create a direct link between Ireland and the state of Indiana and wider mid-west region of the United States. Commencing on 3^rd May 2025, the route will also serve as the only direct route between Indianapolis and Europe.

The direct connection will ensure smoother travel for business and leisure travellers while also strengthening cultural and commercial ties between the two regions. The route will be operated by a new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, offering greater fuel efficiency, comfort and the latest in-flight technology for customers,” said Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus’ Chief Executive Officer.

“Reopening a much needed and frequently requested transatlantic route to our dear friends in Ireland will once again open new opportunities for business and leisure alike. It’s important that Indiana always keep investing in itself, by letting the world know we’re open for business and not even the sky’s the limit to our cultivated connections,” said Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb.

And with customs preclearance in Dublin, Irish travellers can begin to experience everything Indianapolis has to offer the moment they arrive in the United States.”

The new route between Indianapolis and Dublin will foster closer economic and business ties between Ireland and the United States mid-west. As well as the benefits to the Dublin and wider Irish economy, Aer Lingus also offers seamless connections to 20 destinations across Europe and the UK, including Paris, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Frankfurt and Edinburgh.

Indiana is home to 52 Ireland-based business, and Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Company recently invested $1.8 billion in two Irish facilities. More than 70 percent of committed capital investment in the state was from foreign direct investment, which underscores the need to continue building nonstop routes.

The new route will be serviced by the new Airbus A321XLR which offers greater fuel efficiency, comfort and the latest in-flight technology.  The addition of the Indianapolis route follows the announcement last month of Nashville, Tennessee, bringing the total number of Aer Lingus routes from Dublin to North America to nineteen.

All US bound customers will also clear US Customs & Immigration at the Dublin airport customs & immigration facility. Customers flying with Aer Lingus to Indianapolis or any other North American destination can avail of Dublin Airport’s US Pre-Clearance facility. The service allows customers to pre-clear all US immigration and customs formalities, meaning you’re effectively on US soil once you’re cleared.

Indianapolis is home to the world’s largest single-day sporting event, the Indianapolis 500, a motor racing event at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Sports fans can also experience American football with the Indianapolis Colts and professional basketball games with the Indiana Pacers and Fever.

The city is known for hosting major conferences and global events. Aside from blockbuster events and fast cars, Indy (as it’s otherwise known) has plenty of green space, glistening waterways and world-renowned cultural institutions, making for a charmingly picturesque city. An urban state park runs through the heart of the city, packed with museums, art, a music venue and plenty of opportunities for enjoying the outdoors.
