Spring Hotels appoint Don Clarke as Key Account Manager for Ireland

Spring Hotels Appoints Don Clarke to Lead Irish Sales Strategy, Following Major Portfolio Expansion

Spring Hotels, widely regarded as the most authentic hotel group in Tenerife, has appointed Don Clarke as a Key Account Manager for Ireland. The move comes as part of a wider growth strategy following Spring’s acquisition of the Mare Nostrum group, which doubled its portfolio and significantly expanded its footprint across the island. Known for its commitment to genuine hospitality, local culture, and sustainable tourism, Spring is now investing in trade partnerships to drive awareness and bookings across key European markets with Ireland, as the group’s second biggest, remaining a top priority.

Don Clarke will lead Spring’s Irish sales activity through his company, DCM Representation, and will be responsible for driving awareness and bookings across the trade. With over 25 years of experience in the travel industry, Don brings a wealth of market knowledge, deep agent relationships, and a proven track record of building business across diverse travel sectors.

His appointment comes at a pivotal time, with significant shifts regarding  flight charter services from Ireland expected in 2026, creating new opportunities for agents to book scheduled carriers such as Aer Lingus and Ryanair. And with further attractive incentives available to those entering their bookings through the Spring Pro agent portal, such as free airport transfers for any booking of 7 nights or longer, Don will be at hand to guide agents on how they can achieve maximum benefits for their clients.

Don’s career began in the ferry industry with SeaCat, where he worked in operations covering Irish Sea services. He went on to hold roles with Norfolk Line, Stena Line, and Travel Solutions Tour Operator in Belfast, where he built product and drove sales on the ground. His first client, Balkan Holidays, saw him successfully grow visibility across Ireland.

As a member of the Travel Suppliers Network Group, Don has access to key roadshows and trade events, offering Spring a cost-effective and consistent presence at high-impact industry gatherings. His current client portfolio includes Seesports, Stuba, Sun Transfers, and Stena Line.

From September, Don will embark on an intensive sales call mission, starting with key Irish consortiums. Furthermore, agents can connect with Don at the Holiday World Show in Dublin in January 2026.

Don’s reach spans approximately 90 percent of the Irish agent market, supported by his longstanding relationships and regional mobility.

Joanne Robinson, Head of International Sales at Spring Hotels, commented:

“Don’s appointment is a natural extension of our commitment to the Irish market. His reputation, relationships, and deep understanding of the trade make him the ideal ambassador for Spring. With our portfolio now doubled and our sights firmly set on growth, we’re thrilled to have Don leading the charge in Ireland.”

Don commented: “I’m delighted to be representing Spring in Ireland at such an exciting time for the brand. With the portfolio now doubled and agent demand shifting fast, there’s a real opportunity to help Spring stand out and grow its presence across Ireland.”

Spring is confident that Don’s appointment, backed by a significantly expanded hotel portfolio, will unlock substantial growth in the Irish market and position the brand as a trusted partner for agents navigating a changing travel landscape.
