Royal Caribbean International Announces New VP EMEA

Today, Royal Caribbean International has announced that Gerard Nolan has been appointed Vice President, Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) at Royal Caribbean International. In this role, Gerard will lead the day-to-day operations for the brand across EMEA, overseeing the sales, marketing and commercial teams.

Gerard has worked at Royal Caribbean Group within the Celebrity Cruises brand since 2016. During this time, he has held a variety of senior management roles, responsible for leading and driving commercial strategy.  Most recently, he has had the position of Associate Vice President Commercial at Celebrity Cruises, overseeing EMEA and providing strategic support for the Australia and Asia Pacific regions.

Gerard is joining the Royal Caribbean International team at an incredibly exciting time for the brand, both across EMEA and globally. Icon of the Seas – the first of two new ship launches for this year alone – continues to break records and last week the brand took delivery of Utopia of the Seas. Utopia is set to bring weekend energy with ultimate short getaways when it debuts in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida this July. Royal Caribbean’s second Icon class ship, Star of the Seas, is poised to launch next summer, as well as the unveiling of the cruise line’s latest exclusive destination, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas, in 2025.

Reporting to Angie Stephens, Senior Vice President, International, Royal Caribbean International, Gerard will be supported by a strong leadership team, including:

  • Gianni Rotondo, Associate Vice President, EMEA IRs
  • Aaron Langford, Senior Sales Director, UK & Ireland
  • Karen Tucker, Sales Director, Nordics
  • Sergio Arevalo, Head of Sales, Spain
  • Nicki Lewis, Sales Enablement Director, EMEA
  • Natasha McGall, Commercial Director, EMEA
  • Terry Burke, Senior Business Development Manager, EMEA

Gerard comments, “I really can’t wait to start my new role at such an exciting time for Royal Caribbean. I’m looking forward to leading my talented new team and supporting our fantastic travel partners as we continue to drive the brand’s success across the EMEA region.”

Gerard’s appointment follows the news that Ben Bouldin, incumbent Senior Vice President EMEA, will be relocating to Shanghai, China, in August to take on the role of President of Royal Caribbean International, China.
