Robbie Smart 1978-2022

#Traveltradetogether

A man we shall never forget

The heart-breaking news of Robbie’s sudden passing numbed and shocked all of us in the industry who knew, loved, and worked with one of our great Industry characters.

Our prayers, thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his beloved wife Emma and daughters, Holly and Robyn, parents Chris and Marie, sisters Corrina and Karen, brothers Keith and Peter, brothers in law, sisters in law, God mother Josie, his godchildren, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, lifelong friends Richie and Charles and large circle of friends.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Robbie throughout his career and was so happy for him when he came back to do what he did best taking on his new role with Bedsonline earlier in year. The support from the trade was testament to Robbie’s popularity and willingness to support him in all that he had planned for the next chapter of his career in our industry.

As the industry gathered in their hundreds last week to bid Robbie farewell on his next journey you could feel the genuine love for all who had the pleasure of knowing one of our true Industry ambassadors. I was so proud to see so many Industry colleagues and friends, our unique travel industry family, supporting Robbie’s family and one another. The guard of travel honour and reception for Robbie as he entered the church is one of those memories that will stay with us forever. Robbie’s light will continue to shine brightly for sure.

We will remember all the good times, the smiles, Robbie’s inquisitive mischief, fun and very rare gift to make time for all he touched in is his short but incredibly impactful life.

On behalf of all here at Travelbiz, our readers, followers, and subscribers, our thoughts and prayers are with Emma, Holly and Robyn. Rest in peace my friend.
