Record-Breaking Success in London for Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe 2023

#Traveltradetogether

Brand USA celebrates biggest ever Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe and looks ahead to returning to London in 2024.

Brand USA, the destination marketing organisation for the United States, hosted more than 600 travel industry delegates from over 20 countries in its biggest Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe to date. Returning to London after its European debut in Frankfurt, Germany last year, the annual event ran between Monday 16 to Thursday 19 October at the capital’s historic London County Hall.

Across the four days, Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe 2023 connected 170+ U.K. and European buyer delegates with over 140 U.S. exhibitor organisations, through a series of pre-scheduled appointments, totalling a record-breaking 4,200+ meetings. As the only tourism event in the U.K. and Europe dedicated to travel in the United States, the meetings provided an opportunity to reach an influential audience, with further networking available during the evening to strengthen business relationships and reconnect with industry colleagues. This year’s evening events spanned a private takeover at The National Gallery, a night-time cruise along the River Thames, and entertainment of the best Broadway musicals in London’s West End theatres.

Alongside Travel Week, Brand USA’s Media Forum, now in its second year, welcomed 65 U.K. and European media and nearly 50 U.S. PR representatives, facilitating over 1,000 one-to-one meetings to discuss what’s new across the U.S. and forward planning into 2024. The CEO Summit, in its third year, saw a delegation of 48 U.S. industry leaders and marketing minds join forces to discuss industry insights, challenges, trends and forecasts through a series of media roundtables, keynote updates and strategy sessions.

To complement the bespoke business meetings, a series of enrichment sessions looked into current trends and the future of travel. Highlights included keynote speaker Roger Bennett, a British-American broadcaster, podcaster and filmmaker and the co-founder of the Men in Blazers Media Network, shine a spotlight on the flurry of international sports events being hosted in the U.S., from the 2024 Copa América to the FIFA World Cup in 2026. Other key panels included the latest research and best practices in sustainable tourism; taking an aerial view towards the future of the aviation industry; and the importance of authenticity and diversity when telling the breadth and depth of U.S. stories.

“Each and every year, Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe continues to forge new ground and break records for the number and quality of international delegates who gather to explore creative, research-driven ways to inspire travel to the U.S.. Right now, we are close to overall connectivity volume we saw in 2019, beating the forecasts with leisure travellers returning at speed. Travel Week provides the opportunity and momentum to unite the industry, reconnect with peers, and strengthen business relationships as we continue to drive this visitation to the U.S. and share our nation’s stories.” said Brand USA president and CEO, Chris Thompson.

Brand USA Travel Week U.K. & Europe will return to London in 2024, taking place from 21-24 October, 2024.
