The team debuts the new airline travel kits.

The Portuguese national team is flying with TAP Air Portugal to the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The national team delegation, led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Roberto Martinez, departed this Friday aboard the A330 CS-TUM, named Nuno Álvares Pereira and decorated with the slogan “It’s Portugal Time”, heading to West Palm Beach, where it is due to arrive at 10.30 pm local time.

TAP is the official airline of the Portuguese national team, under an agreement signed with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) which runs until 2030, the year in which Portugal will co-host the next World Cup with Spain and Morocco.

The strategic partnership between the two brands is based on a shared vision of promoting Portugal internationally, bringing together football, tourism and air travel as drivers of the country’s global profile. TAP will accompany the national team on its international trips, ensuring conditions of excellence that reflect the highest standards of quality, safety and comfort.

This partnership between two of the strongest symbols of Portuguese identity reinforces the FPF’s internationalisation strategy and consolidates TAP’s position as an active partner in promoting sport, tourism and the image of a modern, globally competitive Portugal.

“It is with great pride that we are flying the national team to the 2026 World Cup and that we have this partnership with the FPF – two winning brands that take Portugal around the world, that unite the Portuguese people and that seek to face every challenge with a winning spirit. At TAP, we all hope that the national team and the fans will enjoy a World Cup full of success and joy,” says Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP Air Portugal.

The entire team and delegation are travelling on board TP9035, on a flight meticulously organised by the Portuguese Football Federation and TAP Air Portugal, so that our players arrive at their final destination ready to face the competition. From the meals to the business-class headphones and customised pillows, everything has been designed to offer our team maximum comfort.

The national team is even debuting TAP’s new travel kits, which will be available on all flights this summer. The new kits use more sustainable materials and feature more and new products from Portuguese companies, such as Pé de Meia and 8950 Cosmética, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to Portuguese identity and hospitality. The kits are available in two collections, The Blaze and Mini Vigor, in the national colours.

TAP Air Portugal wishes our team success in the World Cup, reminding that now “It’s Portugal Time”.
