Places now open for CLIA destination-themed event

#Traveltradetogether

will be held in Porto, Portugal, from October 6-8, and includes sessions with both ocean and river cruise destination experts, as well as a trade fair, hosted evening receptions, and the opportunity to join local tours and excursions in the city.

The showcase will highlight the importance of worldwide destination knowledge and how this can be used to support trade sales.

All delegates will be hosted on Norwegian Prima, with additional ship visit options to include the ultra-luxury Seabourn Ovation and several river cruise ships.

Registration is £129pp, while preferential rates for hotel accommodation, and flights via TAP Air Portugal, will be announced shortly.

The headline event sponsors are Porto & the North, Porto Leixões Cruise Terminal and Mail Metro Media.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland managing director, said: “Demand from cruisers to explore the destinations they visit has never been higher, so this immersive event is ideally timed to support agents who are looking for added insight. Ocean and river cruises offer a hugely diverse range of calls on every itinerary, from bustling city centres to relaxing hideaways, so we’ll be covering the wealth of eye-catching options that are open to cruise customers”.

“Porto is a highlight of many ocean and river cruise holidays, which in turn will give agents who wish to sell both experiences a wealth of opportunity. The first-hand knowledge they develop also means they can better sell this fantastic cruise hub to their customers as a destination in itself”.

Luis Pedro Martins, President of Visit Porto & the North, said: “On behalf of Porto & Northern Region, it is an honour to welcome all CLIA UK & Ireland members to our destination. Together with our local partners and VisitPortugal, we are preparing a wonderful programme to all participants. Join us and discover the Northern Portugal region’s best experiences, flavours and sceneries”.
