Orient Express Appoints Bartolomeo Fusco as General Manager of Orient Express Venice

Orient Express is pleased to announce the appointment of Bartolomeo Fusco as General Manager of Orient Express Venice, effective immediately.

Bartolomeo Fusco will oversee the strategic positioning and operational launch of the Venice property ahead of the highly anticipated opening of the brand’s second hotel, at the beginning of 2026. Fusco will be responsible for overseeing the strategic positioning, development, and daily operations of the hotel in Venice, thanks to a well-established approach to excellence and a strong tradition of Italian luxury hospitality.

Fusco most recently served as General Manager of Aman Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano. His career also includes five years as Deputy General Manager at Aman Venice, international leadership roles as Interim General Manager at Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro and Amanjena in Marrakech. His operational expertise is grounded in years of experience as Director of Food & Beverage at Aman Venice, a role he began in 2013.

Originally from Umbria, he holds an MBA in Hospitality Management from MIB School of Management in Trieste and a degree in Tourism Economics from the University of Perugia. A native Italian speaker, he is fluent in English and has a good command of both Spanish and French. Beyond hospitality, his passions range from sailing to literature, as well as the development of new gastronomic concepts. Thanks to his extensive professional background, he will bring his international vision to Venice.

This appointment further advances Orient Express’ vision to create a seamless journey across Italy’s most iconic destinations. From the immersive voyages aboard La Dolce Vita Orient Express luxury train to extraordinary stays in Rome at Orient Express LaMinerva, and in Venice at Orient Express Venice, the brand continues to celebrate the art of travel.

“With the appointment of Bartolomeo Fusco, we strengthen our presence in Venice and reaffirm our ambition to elevate each destination we touch. His deep knowledge of the city and his instinct for exceptional hospitality will shape Palazzo Donà Giovannelli into a landmark of refined travel”, said Gilda Perez-Alvarado, CEO of Orient Express.
