oneworld named ‘Favourite Airline Alliance’ as it soars with double award win

Third consecutive year oneworld has taken home The Trazee award.

Alliance also recognised in Global Traveler’s ‘Wines on the Wing’ awards.

oneworld® has once again been named as the ‘Favourite Airline Alliance’ in The Trazees, marking the third consecutive year, and seventh in total, that the global airline alliance has taken home the award.

The new accolade, voted for by the readers of Trazee Travel, an online publication for travellers aged 25 to 40, praises the alliance and its members for their commitment to travel and customer service, acting as a trendsetter in the industry and a favourite of the millennial traveller.

The award ceremony, hosted at the Joseph Hotel in Nashville, saw Chris Quiriconi, oneworld Director of Corporate Sales & Events, collect the award on behalf of the alliance.

oneworld members, Alaska Airlines and Royal Air Maroc, also took home ‘Favourite Airline Website’ and ‘Best Airline in Africa’ trophies respectively, as alliance airlines continue to invest in digital transformations and customer experience.

oneworld member Qatar Airways’ hub in Doha, Hamad International Airport, was also crowned as readers’ ‘Favourite Airport in the Middle East’ for the third consecutive year, thanks to its seamless connectivity and wide-ranging services.

This news comes as oneworld continues to excel with a double award win, having also been named the ‘Best Alliance’ in Global Traveler’s annual ‘Wines on the Wing’ awards.

The awards, now in its 18th iteration, were held in New York, with judges participating in a blind tasting of airlines’ white, red and sparkling wines. Judges included wine makers, sommeliers, wine shop owners and other wine industry executives.

Chris Quiriconi, oneworld Director of Corporate Sales & Events, said: “As we raise a glass to 25 years of the oneworld alliance, we are honoured to have received two top travel industry awards.

“To be named ‘Favourite Airline Alliance’ is a testament to our members and the excellent customer service and connectivity they offer around the world each day. This shows the value customers put on travelling with oneworld alliance members.

“For the alliance and its members to also be recognised for the highest quality onboard wines shows the devotion to offering customers the best travel experience at 35,000ft.”

Member airlines also toasted their success at the Global Traveler ‘Wines on the Wing’ awards, with American Airlines recognised for ‘Best North America First Class Wines on the Wing’, ‘Best Champagne/ Sparkling North America First Class’ for its Boizel Brut Reserve, and ‘Best White Wines North America First Class’ for its white wine, Aussieres Chardonnay 2022, while Alaska Airlines won ‘Best Red Wines North America First Class’ with Browne Family Vineyards Red Blend 2022.

British Airways tied for ‘Best Champagnes First Class International’ and Qatar Airways was crowned for ‘Best International Business Class Wines on the Wing’ in addition to ‘Best Business Class Champagne’.
