Northern Ireland – A Giant Spirit

Jacinta from Travelbiz certainly embraced a giant spirit on February 28th, joining Fiona Cunningham (Director Tourism NI in ROI), John Mc Grillen (CEO Tourism NI) and other key members of Northern Ireland’s industry, Tourism bodies and finest artists to celebrate Northern Ireland’s Giant Spirit. The splendid 5* College Green Hotel was absolutely alive to showcase what this exciting and innovative area offers.

From renowned Titanic Belfast to the clever and innovative Taste & Tour experience, superb Hinch Distillery, highly acclaimed Visit Derry (the medieval walled city of Derry), world-class Lough Erne Resort, Jawbox Gin, Merchant Hotel, Slieve Donard Resort, Crinkle and spectacular Causeway Coast & Glens and many more amazing sights and tastes, Northern Ireland is ever welcoming and has plenty to brag about!

A delightful interlude with leading Northern Irish musicians featured Derry pianist Ruth Mc Ginley, Belfast vocalist Jolene O’Hara and string musicians from the Ulster Orchestra. Who knew the breadth of talent from our neighbours just up the road! The performance included special arrangements of beloved artistes such as Van Morrison and Snow Patrol. This fusion of local classic and contemporary music was a real joy. An evening of unparalleled talent and splendid music. A lively introduction from Holly Hamilton kept proceedings on a light foot and a splendid welcome from Ellvena Graham OBE (Chair of Tourism NI) was a proud precis of tourism in the region.

By the way, Northern Ireland has a stunning array of local produce with which to justifiably bolster their culinary expertise. The immersive Experience Exchange offered the opportunity to further showcase the extraordinary produce the province has on its doorstep. The delicious dinner definitely did the region’s food justice and proved the local cuisine is top notch.

It’s about time we all embraced a giant spirit to enjoy a brilliant area of warm hospitality and great local people, spectacular coastline, fab food and world class experiences. It’s only up the road! So, what’s keepin’ ya?
