Malta Tourism thank trade partners for their great support.

#Traveltradetogether

Celebrating the direct service from both Dublin and Shannon to Malta, which the trade can book directly with Sunway Holidays, Malta tourism took the opportunity to thank the trade in Ireland, Declan Mescall (Features Editor Travelbiz) reports from Dublin’s Loft restaurant.

Tolene van der Merwe (Malta Tourism Authority Director UK & Ireland) and Peter Green (Trade Trainer UK & Ireland) were joined by HE Giovanni Buttigieg Malta Ambassador to Ireland at a reception for the trade in the trendy Loft at 4 Dame Lane. His Excellency spoke of his delight at his recent posting to Dublin following a stint in New York and highlighted many of the close cultural, historical and political links Malta has with Ireland, both countries being small island EU nations.

Tolene spoke of the great importance of tourism to Malta from Ireland and expressed delight at the new Ryanair route from Shannon to Malta to compliment the airlines services from Dublin. She said the Malta Tourism Authority is planning a lot of initiates to promote the country to its Irish audience so watch this space. The living encyclopaedia about Malta is trade trainer Peter Green who gave a very informative presentation on the many attributes of Malta for all age categories and abilities such as the year round sunshine, blue flag beaches, numerous festivals, outdoor activities /adventures on both land and sea such as rock climbing, abseiling, biking, snorkelling and kayaking. Malta has built a tasty reputation for fine dining and boasts 5 Michelin starred restaurants. Travelbiz visited Malta on a Fam trip in April and can’t wait to return.
