Maldives – Silver Sands celebrates 25 years

#Traveltradetogether

Brian McCarthy of Island Marketing has recently returned from Maldives after attending the 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner for Silversands held at Kurumba Resort. Brian was recognised as the first Travel Supplier of Silver Sands, by Directors Mr Ali Nordeen, Mr Hussain Thoufeeq and Mr Abdul Lateef, honouring 25 years of partnership.

Brian said, “It was an honour and privilege to be invited to this event. I have worked closely with Mr Latheef, Mr Thoufeeq and Mr Nordeen for 25 years now where I have learned so much about Maldives and the operational side of resorts. It is a fascinating country and with a one Island one Resort concept, is very different to most other destinations. Working with this team, I have seen their resort projects evolve and develop as well as seeing their business expand in it’s diversity including Dive & Watersports Centres, Bathroom & furniture business, farming supplies, fish processing and a boatyard”.

I am fortunate to call Maldives my second home and have met some great friends and collegues over the years visiting there. In fact, this visit was my 58th visit to Maldives and I have seen many changes over the years, both in resorts and as a nation.

I look forward to our continued parnership and am excited about the latest resort we are now offering to the Irish Market, Ananea Madivaru.
